using photoshop CS4 to open .dds files for edits

Edited: i can open .dds files and see what they have like the lvl 125 blade etc. but how do i change colours of things, how do i change the glow? i really badly need a guide and if someone could help me i might try to make them an edit.

"image width and height must be a multiple of four" wtf? help me pls. i dunno what to do. this is the reason why i cant save edits
